Wow, it's been quite a while since I've updated this journal. Though I've been actively posting new photographs every once and a while, mostly concert photos.

My 50mm lens has blessed me with wonderful low light photographs as you have already seen with my multiple photographs of Tracteur Jack, Oscar B. and The Pipelines. I have more of those 50mm wonders coming up as well!

A few months ago I purchased a Sigma 70-300mm APO lens. Sure it's a budget lens, but it's wonderful for the price. It's both of slightly higher image and build quality than the budget Canon equivalent. It even comes with it's own lens hood and carrying case.

A huge batch a new photographs will be posted soon. This week I attended with *nzaxdiamond to a concert at La Tulipe in Montreal featuring Phoenix and Amazing Baby and the Petite-Nation Rockfest 2009 at Montebello featuring 20 bands. You can expect photographs from the following bands:

Here's a few updates. I got an Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens for Christmas. Stunning lens. It's small, lightweight, inexpensive and very handy. The wide aperture really helps in low light situations without having to raise the ISO up to 1600.

I also have a Macro Coupler, got it today, that lets me reverse mount my 18-55mm lens to my 50mm lens giving me a 1:1 to a 2,7:1 reproduction ratio, in other words, true macro. Of course stacking lenses isn't as good as extension tubes or a macro lens, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Totally worth it if you ask me.

So with these two new toys, you can expect some new stuff pretty soon. I'm thinking of doing a series of photographs about numbers, seems like an interesting concept to me.

Lastly, I'd like to thank ~nzaxdiamond for the amazing time we've spent together for the past month.

Lots of updates since my last journal entry thing. I purchased a new camera. The Canon EOS Rebel XSi. It's truly a wonderful camera and it came with a pretty good EF-S 18-55mm IS kit lens. I've already uploaded a few photographs from it. Expect some new stuff and some old stuff I never put up, like the Red Bull Flug Tag, coming soon enough.

My next purchase might be a EF 70-300mm USM for better reach, because I miss the 12x zoom from the Canon S2 IS. It's not too expensive, but still is a big chunk of money. The EF 50mm f/1.8 also seems nice due to the higher apertures and sharper results, but I believe I won't use it as much as my kit lens.

Also, I've reuploaded a lot of my photographs in higher quality and fixed up without stupid gigantic borders.

If you haven't noticed, a bunch of my new and old photographs can now be purchased as prints! So if you want to, you can try and help me get the EF 70-300mm USM lens by buying prints! I doubt anyone will, but it's worth trying! If you ever buy one, could you tell me how the prints look please? Thanks! XD
